Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The base card’s value is supported by Herbert’s star power and Prizm’s brand strength, but broad availability limits dramatic appreciation. Prices are more likely to track Herbert’s career performance and graded 10 population trends than card scarcity alone.[2][3]
Next months. Expect relatively stable pricing with modest fluctuations tied to NFL news, grading-market sentiment, and comp availability.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card should remain liquid and collectible, with the best upside in graded 10 or pristine copies; raw or lower-grade copies are likely to remain accessible and comparatively affordable.
History
Justin Herbert is an American professional football quarterback who became one of the defining young stars of the NFL after being selected 6th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2020 NFL Draft. His mainstream significance to collectors comes from being the flagship rookie quarterback in 2020 Panini Prizm Football, a set that is widely treated as one of the most important modern football releases for rookie-card collecting.[2][3]
This card first appeared in 2020 Panini Prizm Football, released in 2020 as part of Panini’s annual Prizm NFL product line; card number 325 is Herbert’s base rookie card in that set.[2][4]
- Card #325 is Herbert’s base Prizm rookie card, not the autograph version.[2][4]
- The same card number also exists in autograph and parallel versions, including a Black White Autograph variant.[1][2]
- 2020 Panini Prizm Herbert #325 is commonly treated as a key modern rookie-card issue for quarterback collectors because Herbert became a premier NFL quarterback shortly after release.[2][3]

Collector notes
Condition. Check centering carefully, especially front-to-back alignment, since Prizm cards are highly sensitive to centering. Also inspect sharp corners, edge chipping on the chrome surface, surface scratches, print lines, roller marks, and refractor/scuff visibility under light. White borders can make edge wear and chipping easier to spot.
Storage. Store the card in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder immediately after inspection. For long-term storage, use a graded slab if the card is high-grade or valuable. Keep it away from humidity, heat, direct sunlight, and stacked pressure that can cause surface scratching or edge wear.
Authenticity. Compare print quality, chrome shine, font sharpness, card stock feel, and the back design against known authentic examples. Counterfeits may show blurry text, off-color printing, weak gloss, incorrect card stock, or poor alignment. For higher-value copies, third-party grading from graded, graded, graded, or graded is the most reliable authentication method.
