Anthony Edwards

Market outlook

Rising Outlook 8/10

Edwards' performance in the 2024 playoffs and continued development as a star player drive up demand. The Silver Prizm variant is scarce, and graded 10 copies are highly sought, supporting price increases[2].

Next months. Values expected to rise 5-10% over next 3-6 months as playoff season and rookie wave interest continue[1].

Long term. 1-3 year outlook is strong, with potential for 20-30% growth as Edwards establishes himself as an NBA icon and rookie demand remains high[2].

History

Anthony Edwards is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, selected as the #1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft after a standout college career at the University of Georgia. Known for his explosive athleticism, elite scoring ability, and 'Ant-Man' nickname, he became an immediate sensation as a rookie and a rising star in the NBA[4].

This card was first released in the 2020-21 Panini Prizm Basketball set in fall 2020, specifically as rookie card #258 in the 300-card base set launched by Panini America[4][2].

Collector notes

Condition. Common flaws include silver Prizm border dings, surface scratches on the metallic finish, and centering issues. Check for edge wear, especially on the silver border, and ensure the card is not bent or creased, as scratches on the Prizm surface are hard to repair[2].

Storage. Store in a rigid top loader or magnetic one-touch case, and keep in a humidity-controlled environment. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading of the silver Prizm finish. Use a sleeve inside the top loader for extra protection[2].

Authenticity. Fakes often lack the distinct metallic sheen of the Silver Prizm, have incorrect color saturation, or show poor print quality. Authentic cards have a crisp, reflective silver border. Verify with graded or Beckett authentication, and check for the correct Panini logo and card number alignment[2].
