Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card benefits from ongoing collector interest in Espeon, Deoxys, and Tag Team promos, but it does not have the extreme scarcity of older trophy or early-era chase cards. Modern promo prices typically move in a range-bound way unless a surge in Eeveelution demand or graded population scarcity changes sentiment.[4][5]
Next months. Likely to trade mostly sideways with grade-specific spikes for high-grade copies.
Long term. Likely gradual appreciation if overall Pokémon promo demand remains strong, with the best upside concentrated in graded 10 or otherwise top-pop examples.
History
Espeon is a second-generation Eeveelution introduced in the Johto games as Eevee's Psychic-type evolution, while Deoxys is a Mythical Pokémon introduced in Generation III and known for its alien origin and form-changing DNA-based lore. The pairing is significant because it combines one of the franchise's most popular evolution lines with a high-profile Mythical Pokémon, making the Tag Team concept especially appealing to collectors and competitive players.[1][3]
This card was first released in 2020 in the Tag Team Powers Collection as SM240, part of the SM Black Star Promos line.[1][2][4]
- It is a Psychic-type Tag Team Pokémon-GX promo with 260 HP and the GX attack Cross Division-GX.[1][3]
- The full-art illustration is credited to Hasuno and is known for a cosmic background and holographic foil treatment.[1]
- It was distributed as a Black Star Promo rather than in a main expansion set, which generally makes promo-packaging variants and sealed-product context important for collectors.[1][4]

Collector notes
Condition. Check centering carefully, especially on the full-art border; look for whitening on corners and edges, surface scratches in the holo areas, print lines, and pressure marks from packaging. Promo full-arts often show edge wear from handling and from being removed from collection-box packaging.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder, and keep the card in a cool, dry environment away from direct light. For sealed copies or freshly pulled copies, avoid friction against the holo surface and keep it protected from bending because full-art promos show surface damage easily.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should have crisp printing, proper texture/foil behavior, and the correct SM240 promo numbering and Black Star Promo styling. Watch for off-color ink, blurry text, incorrect font weight, and flat or overly dull holo effects that can indicate fakes or altered cards. Compare the card to known graded/TCGplayer reference images for border layout and text placement.[3][4]
