Market outlook
Stable Outlook 3/10
The card's value is expected to remain stable due to abundant supply and consistent demand for Ohtani's base cards. Without unique variants or short-print status, there is little catalyst for significant price increases. High-grade copies may see modest gains as collectors seek pristine examples.
Next months. Next 3-6 months: Prices will remain stable with ungraded copies at $1.38-$3.00 and graded 9-10 copies at $15-$55. No significant volatility expected.
Long term. 1-3 year prediction: Base cards will likely hold value but not appreciate significantly. High-grade (graded 10) copies may see slight increases to $60-$70 if Ohtani remains a top-tier player, but overall market remains flat due to abundance.
History
Shohei Ohtani is a Japanese professional baseball player who became the first player to win both the Rookie of the Year and MVP awards in the same season in MLB history. He is renowned for his elite two-way skills as both a pitcher and a hitter. In 2023, he signed a historic 10-year, $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, making him the first player in his new White Los Angeles Dodgers jersey featured on significant 2024 Bowman cards.
The 2024 Bowman card #33 depicting Shohei Ohtani was first released in late 2023 as part of the MLB Topps 2024 Bowman Baseball Trading Card Hobby Box, which contains 24 packs per box. The card was officially distributed in the United States during the 2023-2024 baseball card season.

Collector notes
Condition. Key flaws to check include centering (off-center printing is common in mass-produced sets), edge wear, surface scratches, and corner dings. Since this is a base card, printing dots or ink smudges may be present. The card stock is thin, so bending or creasing can occur easily.
Storage. Store the card in a rigid plastic sleeve (penny sleeve) inside a semi-rigid holder (toploader) to prevent bending. Keep it in a climate-controlled environment away from direct sunlight and humidity. For long-term protection, consider grading with graded, graded, or graded.
Authenticity. Fakes are rare for base cards due to low value, but reprints can be identified by checking for inconsistent printing quality, missing holographic elements (if applicable), or incorrect card stock texture. Verify the card number (#33) and set name against official Topps/Bowman catalogs. Authentic cards will have a clear Topps logo and proper copyright information on the back.
